About the Book
My book, “Reflections on Life, Love and Lessons Learned at the Pool”, is both personal and universal.
It weaves together stories from my life—including the love story of my parents—with reflections on the moments that shape us in ways we often don’t fully see until much later, or sometimes never at all.
Because what I’ve learned is this:
The most important parts of our lives don’t always announce themselves.
They happen quietly—
in conversations, in relationships, in the simple act of being there.
Testimonials
"Her successes are directly related to the experiences Becky brought forward from her youth…. her hometown, the pool, and the building blocks of Midwestern values. This memoir documents the influences — family, music, friends, relationships, teachers, coaches, and faith — that created a caring, encouraging individual, seeking to inspire the best in others. Add this to your Summer reading list. You won’t be disappointed!"

“I just got your book in the mail today. Can’t wait to read it. I have the most vivid and fond “core” memories of the Onawa pool. That picture of your dad at the basket window is iconic! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and congratulations”

Legacy Isn’t Something You Leave Behind
It’s something you live—every single day.
It’s in the way you treat people.
The way you listen.
The way you make someone feel seen, valued, and remembered.
Legacy isn’t built in grand gestures. It’s built in moments.
And while you may never fully see the impact you have, those moments matter more than you know.

This Work is Personal to Me
It’s shaped by the people who showed up in my life— and the realization that even the smallest interactions can carry lasting meaning.
I don’t believe connection is accidental.
I believe it’s intentional.
And I believe we all have the ability to create it— in our work, our relationships, and our everyday lives.
